My name is Jesse Khong. I’m a San Francisco fashion designer who is a passionate gardener. In 2010, my fiancé, Rémi and I visited Oahu, Hawaii where we set out to do a marathon tour to some of the most beautiful botanical gardens on the island. I was like a little kid in a candy store as the sights of tropical plants and landscapes completely enchanted me. After that wonderful trip, I decided to turn our small garden in Menlo Park, California into a tropical garden. Because of the mild winter here (the coldest so far was about 27 F. degrees = -3 C. degrees; just only on a few nights out of a year), I’m able to keep my garden lush all year round. Through this blog, I hope to share with you my gardening journey and showcase step by step instructions of how to create & do-it-yourself small gardening projects. I also love cooking, so I will post interesting recipes from time to time.
In 2013 Rémi and I moved to New York city. Due to the drastic lifestyle change, I have not able to publish any new article. My gardening experience had focused mainly within indoor plants in the last few years until we recently moved to an uptown Manhattan apartment with a large outdoor terrace. I hope to be able to publish new articles soon regarding gardening in the East coast.
I would love to hear your opinion, so please feel free to leave comments.
